Minecraft Cat Spawning

Cats can spawn every 1200 ticks (1 minute). A random player (including the spectator) is selected and a randomly selected position horizontally at the same height in both directions, 8-32 blocks away from the player. A cat can spawn if the block is within 2 blocks of a village where the cat is less than 5 people, or if it is in a swamp hut.

Village

An untamed cat will spawn in a village as long as there are at least 5 beds required in 48 blocks and up to 4 cats in its 97x17x97 tile at the spawn site. Cats born in the village will not disappear, but cats born further in the village may disappear. Village cats spawn with random occurrences, while black cats can only spawn during a full moon. Works with both Java and Bedrock. Village cat spawning is a separate process from natural passive mob spawning, so it’s not affected by creature mob caps.

In Bedrock Edition, the village will periodically spawn a stray cat so for every 4 custom beds he will fill the quota of 1 cat, up to 5 cats for 20 or more custom beds. Only your beds (currently used by the villagers) will count for this purpose. All cats within the village boundaries count, including player-owned kittens, feral cats, and domesticated cats. If the number of cats found falls below the quota, the village will attempt to spawn a cat or kitten in her 16x6x16 block in the center of the village.

Swamp hut

In swamp huts around the world, untamed black cats live with witches. This cat never leaves. Additional cats can spawn in cottages, similar to witches. The grass block must be within the bounding box of the swamp hut for this to happen. In the Java Version, all other cats that spawn in the swamp hut (from the spawn egg or the command not specifying the cat type) will always spawn as black cats. New cats will not appear in the cage if there is already a cat inside the 16x8x16 block.

Stone bed version

25% of her cats are born kittens. At full moon, 50% of her breeding cats are black.

Appearance

Despite sharing the same pattern, cats are smaller than ocelots. There are currently eleven skins that cats can have. One of the cat skins was designed after YouTuber GoodTimesWithScar’s cat, Jellie, and was chosen by an online poll on Twitter [3]. Here is the latest interface:

In the default useful resource pack, there is a texture record for a tamed gray loofah.‌[BE only][2] It is completely unused and cannot be spawned in-game.

Like domesticated wolves, domesticated cats actually have a collar around their neck. The shadow of a cat’s neck is purple when tamed and can be modified through the use of dye.

Behavior

Cats don’t take damage from falling, but be careful not to fall off cliffs high enough to take damage from frequent falls.

Cats can see the player even if they have the Invisibility effect. Kittens exhibit the same behavior as adult cats, except they move faster.Creepers and

Phantoms now avoid cats even when chasing players, and are 6 and 16 blocks away from cats respectively. However, the creeper causing the explosion will not exit unless the player exits the blast radius.

Stray cat

A feral cat is an untamed cat. Cats that are born naturally will always spawn as stray cats. Unlike untamed wolves, feral cats can disappear on their own. They track and attack rabbits and baby rabbits up to 15 blocks away. Just because they show up in a village doesn’t mean they stay there. Explore them instead. They dash inside 7 blocks of the participant (except the participant is sneaking [BE only] or the issue is about to peaceful [JE only]) and keep away from the participant inside sixteen blocks. However, it will slowly approach a player with live cod or salmon within 10 blocks, allowing the player to feed and tame them (see “Taming” section below). If the player spins too fast or stops holding the fish within 6 blocks, the cat will run away and not approach the player for a few seconds.

Stray cats can be chained up.

Tamed cat

Unless ordered to sit (see Taming below), tamed cats will be restless and will explore the player’s surroundings for extended periods of time. A cat that hasn’t sat down will attempt to ride horizontally on an active chest, bed base, or stove in a square with a radius of 4 blocks on the cat’s current Y-plane, and once on top, multiple cats, if so, take a sitting position without a chair. command from the player. Cats will sometimes try to sit on these blocks if they are on the ground. A chest with a cat sitting on it will be unusable unless the cat is asked to stand up. A cat sitting alone can be encouraged to get up or if the player has a live fish nearby. The cat can stumble by removing the block or pushing it away. Cats can also move violently when attacked. A cat will not sit on a block blocked by another block above it.

Like other mobs, cats can enter and trap nearby boats.

If the player takes damage from mobs of enemies or potions instead of damage from the environment, a cat sitting near the player will stand up, move a few blocks away from where they are sitting, then sit again down. increase.

Teleportation

A tamed cat teleports to the player when it is more than 12 blocks away from the player, except as noted below. Domestic cats can teleport to inaccessible locations for a variety of reasons and get hurt or suffocate.
Cats do not teleport.

When a cat tells you to sit down. Exception: If a cat is injured while sitting, it can teleport (and will not sit after teleporting). A dramatic example is when lightning struck a cat sitting outside and set it on fire. it kills the cat Exception: If a kitten is told to sit and grow up while the sitting block is still charging, the kitten will teleport to the player and materialize while sitting. When your cat tries to sit on a chest of drawers, bed, or stove. ‌

When the cat is about to go to sleep or is lying in bed. When the cat is on the minecart or boat. If the cat is chained to the fence post. When the cat is in the excretory block. If the player is in the middle, he has one opaque block below and another transparent block above, the block at the edge of the 5x5x1 area is not transparent. When the player is in another dimension. When the player is underwater: When the player is out of the water, the cat will teleport to the player. When the cat is underwater: teleportation is unreliable. It may or may not happen. The teleport cat is completely silent.

Taming

Wild cats can be tamed with live cod or live salmon (see #Behavior, Cat Approach). When a cat is tamed, it will chase the player who tamed it. They do not disappear, are no longer afraid of the player, and purr and meow frequently. Like wolves, they can teleport to players 12 blocks away, within the same limits.
The player can command the cat to sit or stand by pressing “use”. If the player takes a live cod or salmon and commands the cat to “sit” or “stand”, the cat will be given the fish instead, and the cat will go into affection mode. In love mode, the player can command the cat to sit or stand while holding the fish. Cats can also sit on specific objects at will.

Breed

Feeding a domesticated cat raw cod or salmon will put it into affection mode. The breeding process produces a kitten, and the mother cat cannot reproduce for 5 minutes. The kitten has the color of the mother’s coat and belongs to the owner.
Two sedentary cats cannot breed, but a mobile cat can mate with a sedentary cat. In this case, the owner of the mobile cat is also the owner of the kitten. Eating raw cod or salmon can reduce kitten growth by 20 minutes. Each fish reduces the remaining growth time by 10%.
