Blackstone Stairs Minecraft Break
Wooden stairs naturally fall into items when broken with any tool, or without any tool, but using an ax is fastest. Stairs that aren’t wood only drop into items if broken with a pickaxe. Compared to floor slabs, the stiffness value (and therefore the fracture time) of stairs better reflects the blocks from which they are made.

Blackstone Stairs Minecraft Using
Location
To place the stairs, use the stair widget while pointing to the surface opposite the space the stairs will occupy. When placed, the stairs will orient themselves to the half-block side closest to the player.
- The stairs can be placed in the right direction or upside down:
- Pointing at the top or bottom half of the block will place the stairs on the right side.
- Pointing at the bottom of the block or the top half of the block’s edge will place the stairs upside down.
Stairs that change shape to connect with adjacent stairs (of any material):
- When the half-block of a staircase meets the edge of another staircase, the full face of the staircase wraps into an “L” shape to connect with the other stairs (it creates an “inner corner”).
- When the solid face of one staircase meets the edge of another staircase, the solid face of this staircase shortens to join the solid face of the other staircase (it creates an “external corner”).
- The stairs on the right up are not connected to the upside down stairs and vice versa.
Take a walk
Going up stairs is faster than jumping up the same distance. Going up stairs does not cause the player to become exhausted from the hunger bar, compared to 0.2 points of exhaustion per jump. Therefore, going up the stairs does not make players feel hungry at all.
Blackstone Stairs Minecraft Behavior
In general, the solid sides of stairs are treated as solids. Therefore, transparent blocks that need to be placed on opaque surfaces can be placed on these faces.
Fuel
Overworld wooden stairs can be used as fuel in the furnace, smelting 1.5 items per block.
Note block
Wooden stairs can be placed under note blocks to create a “bass” sound.
Stone stairs can be placed under note blocks to create a “bass drum” sound.
