Cactus Minecraft Obtaining

Cactus Minecraft Break

A cactus can be tapped by hand without damage. The tool used to mine cacti does not affect mining speed.

Cactus Breaking

When the location a cactus is placed in becomes unsuitable, such as when a solid block is placed next to it or its supporting block is removed, the Cactus blocks the spit and falls as an item.

A cactus also removes and drops itself as an item if a piston tries to push it, or move a block into its space.

Using a sigil next to a cactus causes both the sigil and the cactus to drop as items.

Natural generation

Cacti naturally occur in desert and Badlands biomes (twice more common in deserts than in badlands). They produce a one (11⁄18 chance), two (5⁄18 chance) or three (2⁄18 chance) high. Rarer cacti can be found if the generation chooses to create another one on top of one already created (although not as common as cane).

Potted cactus and 3 block cactus can also be found in some desert village buildings.

Mobs plunder

Endermen can pick up cacti. When they die, they release the cacti they are holding.

Cactus Minecraft Commerce

Wandering merchants can sell a cactus for three emeralds.

Cactus Minecraft Using

A cactus block can only be placed on sand, red sand, suspicious sand, or another cactus block. A cactus breaks itself (and drops as an item) if any block with solid material, or lava, occupies any of the 4 horizontally adjacent blocks. It also breaks if on sand and the block above is water or lava.

When any entity, including players and mobs, touches the cactus, 1 damage is dealt every 0.5 seconds. Damage from touching a cactus is reduced by armor, but touching it also damages armor. Mobs do not avoid cacti when they are on the road.

Cactus destroys

A cactus destroys any item that comes into contact with it, including other cacti in item form. Falling blocks such as sand and gravel are not destroyed when falling onto cacti; Instead, they are converted into item form (as happens when it falls on any block with a hit box of height less than 1, such as slabs). Items created in this case will sometimes be destroyed by cacti. The transition to an item applies even if the dropped block is a cactus

When a Minecart touches a cactus block, the Minecart drops as an item and is usually destroyed, although a hopper can pick it up faster.

A cactus can also be placed in a flower pot where it is rendered harmless.

A cactus is 7⁄8 of a block wide and a full block tall, however the collision box is 15⁄16 of a block high.

Agriculture

Cacti naturally grow to a height of three blocks, adding one block in height when the top cactus block has received 16 random ticks (i.e. on average every 18 minutes, but the actual rate can vary widely cobble). Bone meal does not work on cacti to speed up their growth. [2] A cactus does not need light to grow and cannot avoid it. If a cactus has space directly above it, it will grow even if the newly planted block will immediately be broken by adjacent blocks.

Cactus Minecraft Breeding

Cacti can be used to breed camels and reduce the camel’s remaining growth time by 10%. The camel also follows a player holding a cactus.

Composting

Placing a cactus in a composter has a 50% chance of increasing the compost level by 1.
