Discover a new guide for Cobblestone Minecraft Wiki. Cobblestone is a common block, obtained from mined stone. It is mainly used for crafting or as building blocks.
Cobblestone Minecraft Obtaining
Cobblestone can be mined with a pickaxe, in which case it will fall out on its own. Its hardness is greater than stone so it takes more time to break, especially with anything other than a pickaxe.
Cobblestone is dropped when mining without Silk Touch and is also contaminated with cobblestone when mining with Silk Touch.
Natural generation
Cobblestone appears naturally in monster rooms, jungle pyramids, loot outposts, ocean ruins, strongholds, plains, taiga villages and snow plains, jungle mansions, and road ruins trail.
In Java Edition, a block of cobblestone always generates at coordinates (8, -61, 8) in the center of an empty starting platform, in Superflat worlds created with the Void biome preset.
Post-generation
When water and flowing lava come into contact, the flowing lava is replaced by pebbles. However, if lava flows from above to the water surface, rocks will be created. Non-flowing lava (lava source mass) turns into obsidian when exposed to water, thus requiring flowing lava.
Using
Cobblestone can be used as a basic building block because it is explosion-proof and extremely popular.
Silver fish
Silverfish can invade and hide in cobblestones, creating an infested mass.
