Xaero’s Minimap Mod provides Minecraft with a rotating square minimap. The minimap shows a variety of surrounding entities.

The minimap of this Map and Information mod is a rotating square minimap. It brings various customization settings for players to use. You can use a minimap with a circle shape and use a separate setting to lock the rotation of the minimap.

When you look at the minimap on the screen, you can see various surrounding entities. For instance, the mod displays players, mobs, and items. These entities are dotted with a custom color or icons.
There are also waypoints for you to place. They are shown on the minimap and in the in-game world. You use the waypoints to find the areas you have visited before. Or, you can use them to get to particular coordinates using teleportation.
Besides, you can use the minimap to see the surrounding blocks above the ground and below the ground.

How to install:
Make sure you have already installed Minecraft Forge.
Locate the minecraft application folder.
- Open Run from the start menu.
- Type %appdata%, click Run.
Input where Xaero’s Minimap Mod you have just downloaded (.jar file) into the Mods Xaero’s Minimap Mod folder.
When you open Minecraft, you see the mod is installed when click the button mods
