Mobs Reproduction

  • Mobs spawn in different ways. Most mobs spawn naturally, depending on light levels, biomes and their surroundings such as:
  • Most hostile monsters are usually found in the dark, while friendly animals are found in bright areas of the surface.
  • Animals usually spawn when creating blocks, while hostile monsters spawn and spawn within a certain radius around the player.
  • Some mobs have the ability to be bred by the player. Villagers also spawn randomly depending on the time of day and the number of beds.

Most mobs cannot spawn on transparent blocks or in water except for the following:

  • Fish
  • Dolphin
  • Tortoise and
  • Other aquatic creatures
  • In lava: except scorpions

The name of the bedrock or on blocks less than one block in height.

The exception is monsters that can spawn naturally on any block including air.

Some mobs (like snow and wilted golems) require the player to “build” them before they can spawn. Iron Golems can spawn naturally and can also be crafted. The last dragon can be resurrected with the last four crystals.

Hopeless

Many mobs disappear (no longer exist) after a certain amount of time if far enough away from the player. In the Java Version, most passive mobs do not disappear, while most monsters do. In Bedrock Edition, nearly all mobs disappear.

Behavior

In a player-like manner, mobs also affect the environment: they are subject to physics and they can be vulnerable to similar things that harm the player such as:

  • Flushing
  • Fall
  • Drowning
  • Attack with weapons
  • Order to destroy.

Some mobs are immune and well adapted, such as some Nether mobs, which are immune to fire. All underwater mobs are immune to drowning except dolphins. Mobs can ride mines and other mobs can climb ladders. When mobs are killed, they turn to dust and drop items that can be useful resources.

Each type of mod has its own artificial intelligence and its own characteristics. Mobs often roam randomly if a player is nearby and usually avoid walking away from blocks high enough to deal damage when falling. Many mods integrate advanced positioning to help it go where it wants, overcome obstacles.

Passive mobs that quit if injured often run away with inertia, while hostile mobs are very aggressive they are ready to attack the enemy again. Neutral mobs are very indifferent mobs, it only reacts when attacked by players or other things, at which point the neutral mob becomes hostile and attacks the entity that attacked it.

Most mobs know the player within 16 blocks of their house, but some can see further. In contrast, the player can hear most mobs up to 16 blocks away (sphere). Mobs in creative mode are harmless.

Most mobs can’t see through most solid blocks like:

  • Semi-transparent blocks
  • Ice
  • Glass
  • Tall grass or glass umbrella

Mobs do not attempt to walk on rails unless pushed onto the tracks by other mobs.
