CoFH World is a mod for Minecraft 1.12 that provides generic world generation functionality for Team CoFH mods for that version of the game. It also provides a configuration system that allows users to define new types of features to create in the world.

By default, Thermal Foundation uses this mod to create worlds.

Types of features

Cluster

  • Cluster is one of a kind feature offered by CoFH World. It generates slightly rounded deposit blocks. It is often used to create ores.

Sparse cluster

  • Sparse clustering is one of the kind of features offered by CoFH World. It is roughly equivalent to cluster, but rarely generates block deposits when smaller sizes are set.

Great veins

  • It generates deposits of blocks as a group of branches starting from a central point. The types of deposits that can be received are huge.
  • A deposit of blocks created using the big vein consists of the ‘main branch’ and ‘sub-branch’. The main branches start from the central point of the deposit. Sub branches have a 1/3 chance to be generated from each block in the main branch. Both types of branches are generated as blockchains that ‘grow’ in random directions.

Decorate

  • It creates groups of individual blocks scattered across a surface, like small trees and flowers.

Lake

  • It creates lakes, like the small pools of water and lava that are generated by default.
  • Lakes can only be created on the surface or underground. They were never created in the air.

Plate

  • It produces vertical cylinders, similar to clay deposits.

Crystal

  • It creates structures similar to lakes, except completely filled and surrounded by blocks. They can also contain cores of different blocks in the center.

More Types of Features

Point

  • It produces spikes pointing upwards, like those found in the thorn biome on the ice plains.
  • Thorns are created only on the surface; they were never created in the air.

Rock

  • It creates groups of rocks, which are almost spherical blocks, like the mossy rocks created by default.
  • Rocks can only be created on the surface or underground. They were never created in the air.
  • The value material of the feature type profile is only used to determine the position of the rocks. When creating the rocks yourself, any block can be replaced.

Stalagmite

  • Stalagmites are one of a kind feature offered by CoFH World. It produces spikes pointing upwards. The shape of these spikes is different from the shape created using spikes.
  • Stalagmites are only created on the surface or underground. They were never created in the air.
  • The value material of the feature type profile is only used to determine the location of the stalagmite. When creating stalagmites yourself, the gen-body option is used instead.

Rosin

  • It creates spikes pointing downwards.
  • Stalactites are only created on the ceiling or underground. They were never created in the air.
  • The value material of the feature type profile is only used to determine the location of the stalactite. When creating stalactites yourself, the gen-body option is used instead.

Small tree

  • Small tree is one kind of feature provided by CoFH World. It produces small oak trees.

Faucet

  • It creates block columns of a certain height. Columns are created from the bottom up, starting from the coordinates where the features are located. This can be used to create ‘taps’ of liquid emerging from underground.

Structure

  • ┬áIt generates structures loaded from NBT files; the same files that structural blocks use. One structure is created per fragment.

Sequentially

  • Sequentially create multiple features at the same location, one after the other.

Consecutive

  • It iterates through a list of features, providing the next feature in the list each time a feature is created. Note that the list is iterated over each chunk separately; if a feature is created per fragment,
