A Frog is a passive mob that usually inhabits swamps. Frogs eat small slime and magma blocks. A frog can create one of three types of Frog Lights when eating blocks of magma, depending on the type of frog.
Spawning
Groups of two to five frogs can breed in swamp and mangrove biomes. Frogs can also reproduce by growing from tadpoles. There are three frog variants, defined by the biome where the tadpoles grow up:
Drop
Frogs drop 1–3 when killed by a player or tamed wolf, while 1–7 drop when successfully bred.
Behavior
On land, frogs will slowly roam, jumping randomly. They can jump 8 blocks high and take 5 less health drops than most other mobs. They love to jump on large waterlily pads and dripping leaves, and will often jump to higher blocks. As with other mobs, honey blocks will prevent frogs from jumping.
In water, frogs move much faster. They usually swim above and above the water, but will swim down if lured by the player. Frogs cannot be injured by drowning.
Occasionally, they may crackle and bulge the larynx.
Breed
Frogs will follow any player holding a slime ball within 6 blocks of them.
Feeding two frogs a slime ball causes them to go into love mode, causing one of the frogs to become pregnant, similar to turtles. The pregnant frog then searches for a body of water with at least one adjacent body of water (stream or source) with air on top to lay the baby frogs. This spawn then hatches into tadpoles, which then develop into frogs.
Tadpoles are a completely different mob from frogs in Minecraft, Unlike all other mobs that have child variants.
Attack
Frogs attack by using their tongues to pull certain mobs into their mouths, then mobs will appear instantly without death animations.
Frogs attack small slimes, which will drop slime balls when killed.
Frogs also attack small blocks of magma, leaving behind a block of frog light. When the magma block is targeted, the frog will walk towards it at a faster speed before attacking. The color of the frog light depends on the type of frog that attacks the magma block:
