Spawning of Glow Squid
In the Overworld, swarms of squid range from 2 to 4 squids, which have the ability to glow and spawn in water in complete darkness anywhere below layer 30. Unlike most other aquatic mobs, they do not need water or submerged blocks above or below their spawning space.
In Bedrock’s Version, glow squid spawn anywhere there is groundwater, in flocks of 2 to 4 (below solid roofs are classified as burrowing, while squid are surface spawning). face) anywhere below Y=30. Glowing squid has a 5% chance of spawning at an early age.
Drop
- 1 to 3 bags of luminous ink. The maximum amount is increased by one for each level of Loot, up to a maximum of 1 to 6 with Loot III.
- When killed by a player or tamed wolf, it gives 1–3 experience points.
- Killing a baby glow squid from Bedrock Edition grants no items or experience, it’s the same as with all other baby animals.
Behavior
In three-dimensional space Glow Inks roam aimlessly as long as they are in the water, opening and closing their tentacles, giving them the appearance of leisurely pushing themselves forward.
The glowing squid suffocates when out of the water, dying after 15 seconds (300 ticks). When on land, they stand still until they suffocate. They can take damage when falling and burned like any other ground mob, but they cannot drown. Once out of the water, the luminous ink is resistant to impact.
Ink glows passively towards the player. They are not attracted to light and do not intentionally interact with the player. Glow squids sometimes run aground and suffocate on their own on riverbanks and sometimes on beaches. These behaviors also closely resemble traditional squid.
Luminous ink appears to glow, but does not produce light. They stop glowing for 5 seconds (100 game ticks) when damaged.
Glow squid cannot swim in lava, even with fire resistance. They simply walked through the lava and behaved as if on land.
Unlike land mobs, glowing squid can swim upstream and not be pushed away by currents.[Java Version Only]
Guardians and Elder Guardians attack glowing squid the same way they attack players or regular squid. Axolotls also attack glowing squid.
Because glowing squid are aquatic mobs, they are affected by the Impaling enchantment.
The glowing ink continuously creates crystals around them. they usually emit a turquoise ink in the shape of a cloud of particles and swim away when attacked, . Particles and ink are still visible when the glowing ink has the Stealth status effect.
If the player is in spectator mode or far away from the glowing ink (usually when they are in the form of unloaded blocks), they will stand still. When attacked in this state, the glowing squid cannot run away.
Although there is a sub-variant in the Bedrock Edition, there is currently no way to breed adult glow squid.
Glow Squid is one of the best Mobs that MC Wiki has just updated.
