Discover a new guide for Bedrock Minecraft Wiki. Bedrock is a special block, destroying it is impossible, found in all three dimensions. As an item in Survival, it cannot be obtained.
Bedrock Minecraft Obtaining
Bedrock can be obtained from the Creation inventory or using in-game commands.
Bedrock Break
Bedrock cannot normally be broken in Survival mode with any tools.
However, it can be damaged due to piston-related malfunctions, but it does not drop like an item.
Natural generation
Bedrock consists of the bottom five layers of the Overworld in a rough pattern, although the top four are mostly flat bedrock with only rare gaps, leaving the fifth layer completely flat, the lowest (at Y=- 64) is almost inaccessible.
In the Nether, bedrock consists of both upper and lower four layers in a rough pattern. In both the Java and Bedrock versions, the bedrock patterns are consistent in the Nether. At the top of the Nether, the platform prevents players from climbing above Y=127 without a glitch, although in the Java Edition the build limit extends to Y=255 in the Nether, meaning buildable there.
Spawn
This space, known as the “Hell Ceiling”, consists entirely of flat stone and occasional mushrooms. No mobs spawn here, as nothing can spawn on stone platforms, although mobs can spawn on valid blocks placed by the player.
In the end, a single bedrock is created on top of each obsidian column, with an end crystal on each column. The foundation remains after the crystal is destroyed (as it cannot be destroyed) and is burned indefinitely. Bedrock also includes part of the exit portal in the center of the central island. Unlike in the other dimensions, there is no bedrock at the bottom of the End, meaning it’s possible to fall into the void without a glitch.
An unlimited number of end portals are randomly generated on the outer End islands, each consisting of 12 bedrock blocks.
Post-generation
If the platform that makes up the exit portal is removed in any way, it will regenerate when the ender dragon is defeated or summoned again.
An end portal is created on the central End island after the death of each Ender dragon, mostly made of bedrock. A total of these 20 portals form a circle centered on the exit portal in the set positions. The corresponding terminal is created on the inner edge of the outer islands after the terminal on the center island is activated for the first time.
Bedrock Using
Bedrock created at the bottom of the Overworld and Nether to prevent the player from falling into the void.
The Nether’s Stone Ceiling is intended to prevent the player from reaching the Nether ceiling, which is an off-limits empty area that the player cannot build. This is still true in Bedrock Edition.
Bedrock Minecraft Java Version 1.2.1
However, in Java Version 1.2.1, the world height was doubled from 127 to 255, a change applied in all three dimensions, allowing players to build on the Nether ceiling. Due to the number of players taking advantage of this change, Mojang decided that this would be considered an expected feature.[1]
Bedrock created as part of key structures in the End, including key elements of the battle with the Ender dragon, as well as portals and exit gates, to prevent them from being broken and keep them accessible accessible and usable.
Mobs do not spawn on rocky platforms. Endermen cannot place the block they are holding on a rock.
Beacons treat the bedrock as a transparent block, meaning their beam can pass through it, allowing beacons to be used in the Nether.
Finally, any fire on a rock base never goes out spontaneously, similar to hell.
Wither trap
Since the bedrock cannot be destroyed in Survival, it can be used to prevent wilting. Certain bedrock configurations (such as the one found under the exit portal) can be safely used to trap wilting by spawning them underneath the bedrock. The Wither can then be easily killed, used to automatically break blocks, or used to plant wilted roses.
Bedrock Last crystal
Bedrock is one of the only two blocks where the last crystals can be placed, the other being obsidian.
Placing one last crystal on the bedrock at the end will set it on fire.
Note block
- Note blocks can be placed above the rock to create a “bass drum” sound.
Piston interaction
Bedrock cannot be pushed or pulled by either piston variant (regular or sticky).
