Using
Unlike most foods, cakes cannot be eaten as an item on a hot bar. Placing the cake on a slab also works, as the slab acts as a solid block. Instead, the cake floats halfway across the top of the sheet.
Each cake has seven “slices”; Each user consumes a slice progressing inward from the west. A single slice restores hunger by 2 () and hunger saturation by 0.4. Eating all seven slices of cake restores 14 (???? × 7) hunger and 2.8 hunger saturation.
Since eating the cake has no animation, the cake can be eaten at a rate of one slice per tick. In the Java version, eating cake does not make a sound, unlike other foods.
As a redstone component, when connected to a comparator, the entire cake emits a signal strength of 14. The signal strength decreases by two units with each slice.
Panda
Some pandas move toward a fallen cake to pick it up and eat it. Some may not, depending on the location of the cake.
Composting
Putting a cake into a composter increases the compost level by 1.
Cake Minecraft Piston interaction
- A cake is broken when pushed by a piston, and it breaks nothing.
- Using a candle on an uneaten cake creates a candle cake of that color (including colorless). Eating cake causes candles to fall.
- Using flint and steel, fire charges, or any fire bullets on a candle cake is not suitable for lighting candles. Lit Candle Cakes emit light levels of 3. Click on the lit candle (but not the cake) to extinguish it.
