Conduit Minecraft Electrical conduit
When activated, conduits give the “Electric Conduit” effect to all players exposed to rain or water, within a spherical range of 32-96 blocks. This effect restores oxygen, grants underwater night vision, and increases mining speed by 16.7% (1/6). The conduit also deals damage to any hostile mobs, such as drow, guardians, and elder guardians, within 8 blocks of the conduit. Conduits can be activated in any biome and at any height or depth.
Activate
To activate, a conduit needs to be in the middle of a 3×3×3 water block, which itself must be placed in the trigger frame. The frame is built from blocks in three open 5×5 squares centered on the duct, each block around an axis. Only prismarine blocks, dark prismarine, prismarine bricks and sea lantern blocks in the frame contribute to activation.
A minimum of 16 blocks is required and creates an effective range of 32 blocks. Prismarine type panels (including double panels), stairs and walls cannot be used to activate ducts. Any block (of any type) that is not part of the activation frame but is located in the 5×5×5 outer shell has no effect. Once activated, removing any block from the conduit (frame block) will deactivate the conduit
Effective
The effective radius of the conduit is 16 blocks for every seven blocks in the frame, although the effect does not trigger until there is a minimum of 16 blocks in the structure. Therefore, it expands to 48 in 21 blocks, 64 in 28 blocks, 80 in 35 blocks, and 96 with a complete frame of 42 blocks. A complete frame also grants the additional advantage of attacking hostile mobs within 8 blocks of a 4 conduit every 2 seconds, if they come into contact with water or rain.[note 2]
Light source
The conduit emits light level 15, the brightest light level in the game, whether activated or not; even on land.
Anecdote
When activated, the duct will display the central texture of the sea in the center of its model. However, once all 42 blocks have been placed (when the conduit is fully activated), the heart opens like an orange eye.
The achievement of duct activation is the whirlpool system in Nordland county, Norway.
