Discover a new guide for Comforts Mod Wiki. Comforts Mod adds hammocks and sleeping bags to Minecraft. These items can be used just like beds except that they do not set the player’s spawn point when used, safely preserving the player’s spawn point at their home base.
They also come in 16 different colors, just like the bed. The difference is that sleeping bags are stackable and more convenient to use on adventures, and hammocks can only be used during the day instead of at night.

Comforts Featured:
Sleeping Bags:
Sleeping bags are blocks that work almost like vanilla Minecraft beds. You can put them down and right click at night to go to sleep, wake up during the day. The only difference is that sleeping bag items can be stacked in inventory, up to 64, and using a sleeping bag will not set a new spawn point. The next time you die, you’ll respawn back to the last bed you slept in (or the world spawn point) as normal.
Hammock:
Hammocks are simple multi-block structures that function similarly to vanilla Minecraft beds except that they are intended for daytime napping only.
Rope and Nail:
Rope and Nail are a set of specialized items for making hammocks. They serve no other purpose. Wires and Nails can only be placed on any type of wooden block.

Sleeping bag
Sleeping bags are blocks that work almost like vanilla Minecraft beds. You can put them down and right click at night to go to sleep, wake up during the day. The only difference is that sleeping bag items can be stacked in inventory, up to 64, and using a sleeping bag will not set a new spawn point. Recipe
The recipe for a sleeping bag is simply three pieces of wool of matching colors lined up in a straight line.
You can also dye your regular white sleeping bag into any other color!
Configuration options
Automatic pick up sleeping bag
- Operation true to automatically attempt to pick up the sleeping bag after sleeping. will remove the sleeping bag block from the world and place it in the next empty slot in your inventory. If your inventory is full, the item will appear in the world for you to pick up.
Automatic sleeping bag use
- Set to true to automatically try to use a sleeping bag when selected. This will check all the usual sleep requirements and also check the space required to place the sleeping bag. Instead, you can still place the normal sleeping bag by right-clicking.
Insulated sleeping bag
- This is a Tough as Nails compatibility feature. Set to true to increase the player’s temperature after waking up from the sleeping bag. This will only trigger if the player’s temperature is below normal. Every 1000 sleep ticks will increase the player’s temperature by 1, up to a maximum of 5, up to a maximum of 10 (normal).
Hammock
- Hammocks are simple multi-block structures that function similarly to vanilla Minecraft beds except that they are intended only for daytime napping.
Recipe
The recipe for hammock fabric is simply a piece of colored wool in the middle, glued to the top and bottom, leaving the remaining slots for string.
You can also dye your regular White Hammock Fabric any other color!
Configuration options
Recreational hammock
- Set to true to enable hammock sitting. This will become the new default behavior for hammock. Up to two players can sit in a hammock. Players cannot sleep in a hammock occupied by the player sitting on it. Sitting in a hammock is not restricted by the same criteria as sleeping, you can sit in a hammock whenever you want. It is still possible to sleep in the hammock by right-clicking the hammock when empty-handed.
Build a hammock
- To make a hammock, you need a piece of hammock fabric. The recipe for one dish is illustrated above. You will also need two sets of Strings and Nails. Now you need to find a number of blocks that are exactly four spaces apart. (Old note: versions older than 1.1.0.3 will require these blocks to be planks or logs)
- Once you have found a suitable position, place the two sets of Strings and Nails on the log so that they are facing each other.
- Now grab your hammock fabric and right click on either Wire and Nail.
- And Voila! You’re ready to take quality naps even when it’s sunny and bright outside.
Rope and nails
Rope and Nail is a set of items used mainly for making hammocks. They serve no other purpose. Wires and Nails can only be placed on any type of wooden block.
Recipe
- The recipe is the wires in the top left, top, left and bottom right slots and an iron ingot in the middle.
Well Rested
Well Rested is a feature that prevents players from sleeping on their backs (using both sleeping bags/beds and hammocks). When active, the player will not be able to go to sleep for a configurable amount of time before feeling fatigued.
Configuration options
Good rest
Set to true to enable the feature that prevents players from falling back to sleep after a configurable amount of time after sleep.
Sleep factor
A decimal number between 1.0 and 20.0, when Well Rested is set to true, determines how long the player must wait after falling asleep before going back to sleep. Default is 2.0F. The calculation takes the number of ticks the player has slept in and divides it by the sleep factor.
The resulting number is the number of ticks that the player must wait before being able to go back to sleep. If the player sleeps for less than 500 ticks, this feature will not be activated and the player can sleep immediately afterwards.
Configuration
Sleeping bag for car use
Set to true to automatically try to use the sleeping bag when right-clicking the sleeping bag in your hand. You can still put it down as usual by sneaking
Debuff sleeping bag
List of debuffs applied to the player after using the sleeping bag (Format: [effect] [duration (seconds)] [strength]) Example:
sleepBagDebuffs = [“minecraft:mining_fatigue 60 1”, “minecraft:weakness 30 1”]
This will add two effects to the list. The list itself is defined by brackets. Each entry is separated by a comma. Each entry needs to be enclosed by double quotes. Each option in the entry is separated by a space.
Good rest
Set to true to enable the feature that prevents players from falling back asleep after a configurable amount of time after sleep
Sleep factor
When Well Rested is true, determine how long the player must wait after falling asleep before going back to sleep (larger number = can go to sleep earlier)
Recreational hammock
- Set to true to enable hammock sitting. It is still possible to sleep in the hammock by right-clicking with bare hands.
- The chance to break the sleeping bag
The possibility that the sleeping bag will break after sleeping in it
- Insulated sleeping bag – Stiff compatibility feature
Set to true to warm the player after sleeping in the sleeping bag (the amount of warmth provided depends on how long they slept)
