How to attach Elytra in Colytra
The way you attach Elytra is quite simple:
- Make sure you put an elytra and a chestplate in a crafting grid.
- You will see the output in the form of the chestplate equipped with a tooltip.
- It lets you know that you have attached an elytra to it.
Different modes in the mod
Colytra features three different modes based on your selected configuration options.
Normal Mode:
- Both chestplate and elytra appear in a separate way.
- They keep their own enchantments.
- The flight will deplete the durability of elytra as normal.
- You can use Phantom Membrane to fix the elytra element. You can fix it in the anvil.
- When you put the colytra into the crafting grid again, the separation is feasible.
Unison Mode:
- Both chestplate and elytra mix together and function as one.
- The enchantments of the elytra will be combined into the chestplate.
- The durability and energy of chestplate will be depleted by the flight.
- You cannot separate them.
Perfect Mode:
- It is quite similar to the Unison Mode.
- However, the flight will not deplete the durability and energy of the chestplate.
How to attach Elytra to Chestplate for version 1.12.2
If you are on version 1.12.2 and want to attach elytra to chestplate using the Colytra mod, here are some steps for you:
You must have an anvil. Then, you put the chestplate into the left slot and the elytra into the right slot.
You have obtained a chestplate with elytra’s power.

The combination is long-term. You cannot separate them until the process is completed.
- The previous work penalties for elytra and chestplate will be merged into the new colytra. Hence, you need to watch out for utilizing elements that have been implemented on various times already.
- Both elytra and chestplate elements run as two individual items in terms of durability and repair.
- Their enchantments from either element will be merged into the new colytra.
- To toggle the elytra element on/off for the colytra, you will utilize a keybinding.
- When the durability reaches 1, the elytra component will be disabled.
Configuration options of the Colytra mod for version 1.12.2
There are some configuration options for you to use in this Minecraft mod, for instance:
- Permission Mode: You can set the way the chestplates can be added with an elytra. You can blacklist or whitelist them.
- Item List: It is a list of items that you can blacklist or whitelist.

When you install Baubles in Colytra mod, it features a new elytra body bauble. The recipe for this is quite simple, which is just a common elytra. They can be created back and forth for free.

How to install:

Locate the Minecraft application folder.
- Open Run from the start menu.
- Type %appdata%, click Run.
