What is AgriCraft Wiki?

It’s an available release that will bring crop breeding to Minecraft. Its mission comprises enhancing your current crops, or cross-breeding to mutate into strange species of crops.

The author has completely rewritten it for 1.16.5. Therefore, the newbie and the expert can master the present mod easily.

About Genetics

The creation goes after mendelian genetics. In other words, the genome of a plant will contain a set of genes. Each gene will exist as a pair of alleles.

As usual, one allele is dominant over the rest. People call the latter is recessive.

For example, if you consider gene “A”, with dominant allele A and recessive allele a, you will have:

Gene Pair A-A: both dominant, A is the apparent trait

Gene Pair: A-a: A is dominant over a, A is the apparent trait

Gene Pair: a-a: both recessive, a is the apparent trait

There are multiple genes in AgriCraft. Examples of genes are the plant species, each of the stats, with attractiveness to specific animals. A cow might be very interesting in that tasty, tasty 10-10 wheat. But, that can also have some advantages.

About the stats, a higher stat level is dominant. Hence, a plant with Growth genes 8 – 3 will own a real growth stat of 8.

If cross-breeding two plants, the new crop will receive one allele from each parent. So, two 10 – 1 crop can get the offspring as follows:

10-10: obtain the 10 from both parents: 25% chance

10-1: have a 10 from the first with 1 from the second or vice versa: 50% chance

1-1: collect the 1 from both parents: 25% chance

Currently, if that occurs, a mutation can begin. So, a random difference in one of the genes, a plant species can mutate into another one. Or, a stat can move up/down without method. Mutations will be an important element to make your crops better and open up newer ones.

AgriCraft Stats

There are 6 stats in AgriCraft by default.

Growth – influences the growth rate of plants. Higher growth stat will cause plants to reach maturity faster.

Gain – works on the number of fruits that the plant will generate

Strength – changes where the plant can grow

Resistance – affects the resistance of the plant to weeds

Fertility – has an effect on how likely a plant joins cross-breeding to breed offspring

Mutativity – boost the likelihood of a positive mutation if cross-breeding

Weeds

They have returned. Many people in-game know them.

Now, they can sprout on plants and grow at the same time. They will have to compete to gain resources. So, they will decrease the crops’ growth.

You should not allow them to mature. When they hit a certain maturity level, they will destroy the host plant and spread to attack neighboring crops.

Growth requirements

Plants will come with extremely particular requirements involved in the soil, season, fluids, and light.

Each soil keeps certain properties, for instance, humidity, acidity, and nutrients. A few crops really love very humid soils. Meanwhile, the others will like soils that own very little nutrients.

Moreover, if you install a mod that supplements seasons, crops will identify those. They can develop only during their suitable seasons.

You ought to cultivate some crops under the water because that is their favorite place.

Irrigation systems

The edition drops these systems to water and accelerates the growth pace of crops.

AgriCraft Configurability

AgriCraft is configurable. It has more than 100 config options and JSON support for plants, soils, mutations, with weeds.

You can access the wiki page to check for documentation for the mod and modpack developers.

Optifine

The owner cannot natively assist Optifine as it’s actually invasive, closed source, and hard to set up in dev.

JSON Configurability

It’s possible to find documentation for the jsons on the wiki at https://agridocs.readthedocs.io/en/master/

Besides, you can search for PackDevUtils (by WACriminal), a Vscode extension, with features JSON schema validation for AgriCraft JSONs at https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=PackDevUtils.packdevutils

AgriCraft is a mod about genetics. It enriches your farming tasks. It carries out IC2 crops mutations for every crop. It’s straightforward to plant and harvest any seed from any mod on crops as well.
