The texture of the blocks is not entirely flat. You can change that through some options. They are flawless, stone, or hardened clay. If options are not fitting, it’s feasible to choose a resource pack.
If you don’t find any block in the crafting tool, please have dyes and cobblestone/glass/glowstone in inventory! It’s impossible to craft anything if you miss either.
You can edit blocks that you select to craft them and how many blocks you get per craft. Remember to open the mod config GUI!
It’s not difficult to launch the config screen to adjust the min/max range for Hue, Value, and Saturation. It can happen to the number of variations for each color dimension. Test your settings in a creative test world before accepting your choice!
Crafting tool recipe
Controlling the item crafted you have to own dyes and cobblestone/glass/glowstone in your inventory. Craft objects in Flat Colored Blocks after opening the items GUI. A few blocks need some dyes to form. You should try different dyes to explore every option.

Recipe is Shapeless, Flat Colored Blocks You’d like to make more of + Colored Block Crafter, and every necessary ingredient. Only crafting takes the ingredients.
Technical tips:
The release can consume lots of blocks ids if you configure it wrongly or if you expect to get a large range of shades.
No tile entities are working and all rendering is complete by using a single model + texture. It ensures mod compatibility.
