Locate the stronghold

To locate strongholds :

Pressing use while holding the ender’s eye will cause it to fly about 12 blocks towards the nearest stronghold, moving over any blocks needed and leaving a trail of purple particles, the same particle effect is used for endermen and ender chests.
The eye leads to an area with a spiral staircase, the first room created in the stronghold.
The center of this entrance staircase is always exactly at the segment with coordinates 4, ~, 4, although the ender’s eye leads to the segment with coordinates 0, ~, 0 (northwest corner of the segment).
When more than 12 blocks from the northwest corner of the stairway, the eye will move upwards to give a visible indication of the horizontal direction the player must move.
When closer than 12 blocks to the northwest corner of the stairs, the eye will move downwards to indicate that the player is above the stronghold and must mine downwards.
After two or three seconds of movement, the eye briefly hovers in the air, then either falls (can be collected again) or breaks apart in mid-air. The eye has a 20% chance of shattering (80% chance of survival) per throw, so throwing it three times has a total chance of breaking the eye of about 50% (0.83=51.2%).
The flying function of Ender’s eye only works in the Overworld. It does nothing in the Nether, The End, custom dimensions[verify], or in worlds without strongholds.
Note that the eye may point to the incorrect location if the target blocks were created using a different biome map in an earlier version or through other generation settings.

Enable Terminal

After finding the end portal, Ender’s eye is required to activate it. The end portal requires a total of 12 ender eyes to activate, although each individual frame block has a 10% chance of containing the ender’s eye when generated.

Eyes can be placed in empty End Gate frames by pressing and using them until the entire 12-piece ring is filled, thereby activating the portal.

Due to the fact that there is a 10% chance that each individual terminal frame has an eye in it, there is a one in a trillion chance that each frame has an eye in it, thus activating the portal even if the player no ‘ I don’t have Ender’s eye.
