Dismantling
The player can escape from the excavator by pressing stealth. When the player or mob dismounts the minecart, optionally, by breaking the minecart or by passing through the trigger rail, the minecart will attempt to find a safe launch destination one block away. First, it checks the eight horizontally adjacent blocks in the following order of priority with respect to the direction of movement: right, left, back right, back left, front right, front left, back, front.
A valid destination has an underlying block with a solid surface (not necessarily full) and a space with enough headroom and width for passengers to fit while standing in the center. The space can even contain liquid or have an open hatch if the mob is thin enough and the presence of other mobs is not an issue.
If no valid destinations exist on the same horizontal level, the miner checks the blocks above, then the blocks below. For players, mine carts also check for possible information-gathering destinations. If there is still none, the excavator will choose its own location. Once the cargo vehicle has chosen its destination, it will actually propel the passenger into the air and the passenger will stabilize himself.
Under low ceilings, this can cause a bit of suffocation damage. Air drops exist to allow passengers to land on mats or bottom panels.

Minecarts have a predetermined speed limit of exactly 8 blocks per second on each axis of movement. Therefore, a freight cart moving diagonally can move up to 11,314 blocks per second. When a freight vehicle approaches a turn, it moves diagonally through that turn.
Redstone rails increase the speed of mine carts. Speed will gradually decrease without rails to support its movement, and unpowered rails will slow down freight cars quickly. Speed decreases faster when going uphill than when moving horizontally. Freight trucks do not need powered rails to help move down hills.
Anything that gets in the way of a delivery truck causes it to stop. After the freight car leaves the tracks, it will decelerate quickly within a block or two. When mobs touch the minecart, they will affect it the same way the player would, i.e. mobs moving onto the stationary cart will cause the cart to move.
If the cart is moving fast enough, it can skip a block without a track and reattach to the track on the other side, with significantly reduced energy and speed. The minecart’s hitbox can skip turns if the minecart is accelerated using enough powered rails.
The speed and momentum of a cart may vary depending on whether it is empty or not, and in the case of carts with containers, the speed may vary depending on the number and type of items inside.
Trolley has merged
In Java Edition, two or more carts can be merged by pushing them together so that they overlap. Consolidated minecarts move as a unit, like a train, and can be useful for long-distance transport because when moving in a straight line, they do not need powered rails to maintain speed.

Collide
Minecart is equivalent in size to a block (1×1). Therefore, a ladder, door or trapdoor will prevent it from falling into the 1×1 hole. Carts on tracks also ignore collisions in certain situations. A cart going uphill, downhill or on a curve with a block placed in front will pass over that block.[4]
A minecart reaching the end of the track and hitting a solid opaque block will bounce back, but if the block is transparent it will stop. The freight car can even bounce up an opaque block from a stationary state if the rails below are energized. Players or mobs riding on mine carts do not collide or suffocate in any transparent blocks but suffocate inside opaque blocks.
Freight vehicles are completely unaffected by ice, packing tape and blue tape[5]; they can also be destroyed by contact with lava or fire.

Mobs can drive mine carts but cannot control them. Mobs cannot escape the excavator unless the excavator is destroyed or moves onto the active trigger bar.[6] However, in Bedrock Edition, endermen can teleport away from the mine cart.[7]

Most mobs can be picked up by minecarts, with the exception of Ender dragons, wardens, and withers. In Java Edition, iron golems are also unpickable.
A racer riding a minecart will automatically accelerate the minecart.[8] Mobs in the mine cart do not appear and do not count towards the mob limit.[Java version only][9]
Boat
Due to bug MC-113871, boats can be captured by mine vehicles. When a boat is placed in a freight car, the freight car moves faster on the rails, approximately the same speed as on powered rails. Movement in the cart is glitched and moving forward with the W key will move the cart backwards relative to the player and vice versa for moving backwards with the S key. The cart also moves on the ground without There is a track at crawling speed, but it does not float on the water even though it is on a boat.
Using this glitch can save much more resources because the cargo boat can move at the speed of powered rails on flat ground and on slopes. Another physical glitch with boat trolleys is that the friction is greatly reduced when the cart is on the rails, similar to the lack of friction when a boat is running on ice. This glitch can be done in Survival without cheating simply by pushing the mine cart into the boat on the track. This bug has now been patched.
